Soft starters for three - phase motors 3 × 400 V in the power range from 1,5 to 22 kW
SINAM 400 soft starters pose an attractive solution to acceleration and deceleration regulation of
squirrel cage asynchronous motors exploiting the change of amplitude of terminal voltage. With the use of phase
control, the voltage applied to the motor terminals is continuously increased and thereby continuous
motor acceleration is ensured. Furthermore, resulting from phase control and continuous decrease in
terminal voltage at drive's switch off, smooth and controlled drive deceleration is ensured.
Soft starter operating states are indicated by five LED, which are placed
on the front side of soft starter enclosure. Voltage converters SINAM 400M
are equipped by the circuit indicating the termination of ramp increase. This
circuit is besides optical signaling equipped by contact relay output connected
in the coil circuit of motor contactor. After acceleration finishes, this circuit
by - passes soft starter power elements by switching on motor contactor. It means
that the motor is directly connected to the power supply and therefore abnormal
warming of power elements does not occur. As a result of mentioned facts the converter
can be characterized by high efficiency and small dimensions. At drive running down, firstly
motor contactor switches off and the soft starter smoothly decreases motor voltage to zero
values, thereby the smooth drive run down is ensured.
